Last updated: 10.08.2026

1. Purpose and Scope

These Event & Programme Terms ("Event Terms") govern participation in events, workshops, educational activities, prevention programmes, community activities, and other organized activities provided or hosted by Logout Neuchâtel Association ("Logout Neuchâtel" , "the Association" , "we" , "us" , or "our).

They apply to activities including, where applicable:

  • Logout Festival;
  • public workshops;
  • educational programmes;
  • prevention programmes;
  • school and university programmes;
  • parent and family workshops;
  • professional training;
  • workplace programmes;
  • community activities;
  • conferences and public talks;
  • research-related activities; and
  • other events identified by Logout Neuchâtel.

Each event or programme may have additional information concerning its date, location, price, eligibility, duration, capacity, and specific requirements.

Where event-specific conditions conflict with these Event Terms, the event-specific conditions prevail for that event.

2. Registration

Participation may require advance registration.

Registration may be completed through:

  • the Logout Neuchâtel Website;
  • an event-registration platform;
  • an Organization;
  • an educational institution;
  • another authorized registration channel; or
  • another method communicated by the Association.

A registration is not necessarily confirmed until Logout Neuchâtel or its designated registration system provides confirmation.

Participants are responsible for providing accurate registration information.

3. Eligibility

Eligibility depends on the nature of the relevant event or programme.

Certain activities may be restricted by:

  • age;
  • educational level;
  • professional status;
  • organizational affiliation;
  • Membership category;
  • capacity;
  • geographical location;
  • programme requirements; or
  • other legitimate criteria.

Where an activity is intended for minors, additional requirements may apply.

4. Capacity and Admission

Places may be limited.

Where an event reaches capacity, Logout Neuchâtel may:

  • close registration;
  • operate a waiting list;
  • allocate places according to the applicable registration procedure; or
  • refuse additional registrations.

Registration does not guarantee admission where the participant fails to satisfy applicable eligibility requirements.

5. Event Fees

The applicable participation fee will be communicated before registration.

Depending on the event, fees may differ according to:

  • Membership status;
  • age;
  • family participation;
  • student status;
  • organizational participation;
  • early registration;
  • programme type; or
  • other published criteria.

Unless otherwise specified, participation fees are separate from annual Membership fees.

6. Member Benefits

Eligible Members may receive discounts or other benefits for certain events and programmes.

Membership benefits may include:

  • Member pricing;
  • priority registration;
  • family benefits;
  • free event admission;
  • discounted additional tickets; or
  • other benefits specified in the relevant Membership Terms.

Benefits are subject to the conditions applicable to the relevant Membership category.

7. Family and Festival Benefits

Where applicable, Family Members may receive:

  • one free Logout Festival Pass per Membership year; and
  • a 50% discount on additional eligible passes.

These benefits:

  • apply only to eligible Members;
  • are subject to event capacity;
  • may require advance registration;
  • cannot generally be exchanged for cash; and
  • cannot be transferred to unrelated persons.

Specific Festival terms may establish additional conditions.

8. Payment

Where payment is required, participants must pay using the payment method specified during registration.

Payment methods may include:

  • online payment;
  • bank transfer;
  • invoice;
  • payment through an event-registration platform; or
  • another method made available by Logout Neuchâtel.

For organizational programmes, payment terms may be established in a separate written agreement.

9. Cancellation by the Participant

Participants may cancel their registration in accordance with the cancellation conditions communicated for the relevant event or programme.

Depending on the circumstances, cancellation may result in:

  • a full refund;
  • a partial refund;
  • a credit;
  • transfer to another session; or
  • no refund.

The applicable cancellation conditions will be communicated during registration or in the event-specific terms.

Where no specific cancellation policy has been provided, Logout Neuchâtel will apply a reasonable cancellation policy consistent with applicable law.

10. Cancellation or Modification by Logout Neuchâtel

Logout Neuchâtel may cancel, postpone, reschedule, relocate, modify, or materially alter an event or programme where reasonably necessary.

Reasons may include:

  • insufficient participation;
  • facilitator or speaker unavailability;
  • illness;
  • safety concerns;
  • technical problems;
  • venue problems;
  • force majeure;
  • legal requirements;
  • public authority instructions;
  • severe weather; or
  • other circumstances outside the Association's reasonable control.

Where an event is cancelled, Logout Neuchâtel will communicate the available options, which may include:

  • transfer to a rescheduled event;
  • credit;
  • replacement activity; or
  • refund of the applicable participation fee, subject to the event-specific terms and applicable law.

11. Changes to Programme Content

Programme content may change where reasonably necessary.

For example, Logout Neuchâtel may change:

  • speakers;
  • facilitators;
  • activities;
  • schedules;
  • locations;
  • teaching materials;
  • session structure; or
  • technical platforms.

Such changes will not necessarily entitle a participant to a refund unless required by applicable law or the change is material under the applicable terms.

12. Attendance

Participants are expected to attend at the scheduled time.

Late arrival may result in:

  • reduced participation time;
  • restricted access to a session;
  • inability to participate in certain activities; or
  • loss of the relevant place.

For safety, safeguarding, or programme-integrity reasons, Logout Neuchâtel may refuse entry to a participant who arrives significantly late.

13. Online Programmes

Online events and programmes may use third-party communication or learning platforms.

Participants are responsible for:

  • having a compatible device;
  • maintaining an adequate internet connection;
  • using appropriate login credentials;
  • maintaining a suitable environment;
  • following platform rules; and
  • protecting their own account information.

Logout Neuchâtel is not responsible for technical failures originating exclusively from the participant's device, internet connection, or third-party infrastructure outside its reasonable control.

14. Participant Conduct

Participants must behave respectfully and appropriately.

Participants must not:

  • harass, threaten, or intimidate others;
  • discriminate against another participant;
  • engage in unlawful conduct;
  • disrupt an event;
  • intentionally damage property;
  • misuse digital systems;
  • impersonate another person;
  • distribute unauthorized commercial material;
  • record participants without appropriate authorization;
  • disclose confidential information;
  • engage in sexual or otherwise inappropriate conduct; or
  • otherwise materially interfere with the safety or functioning of the activity.

Additional rules may apply to particular activities.

15. Removal from an Event or Programme

Logout Neuchâtel may suspend or terminate a participant's participation where reasonably necessary for:

  • safety;
  • safeguarding;
  • serious misconduct;
  • disruption;
  • violation of these Event Terms;
  • violation of event-specific rules; or
  • protection of other participants, staff, volunteers, or facilitators.

Where appropriate, the participant may be asked to leave the premises or cease participation in an online activity.

Depending on the circumstances, removal may occur without reimbursement.

Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot legally be excluded.

16. Minors

Some programmes are specifically designed for children or adolescents.

Where a minor participates, the Association may require:

  • parental or legal guardian authorization;
  • emergency contact information;
  • relevant safeguarding information;
  • consent for participation;
  • consent for specific activities; or
  • other information required for the safe administration of the programme.

The requirements will depend on the nature of the activity and applicable law.

17. Safeguarding

Logout Neuchâtel seeks to provide an environment that is respectful and appropriate for participants.

Where an activity involves minors or other potentially vulnerable participants, additional safeguarding procedures may apply.

Participants, parents, guardians, staff, volunteers, and facilitators may be required to comply with applicable safeguarding rules.

Concerns relating to participant safety should be reported promptly to the designated Logout Neuchâtel contact.

18. Photography, Video and Audio Recording

Events may involve photography, video, or audio recording for legitimate purposes such as:

  • documenting Association activities;
  • educational communication;
  • public information;
  • reporting;
  • fundraising;
  • promotional materials; or
  • archival purposes.

Where required by applicable law, appropriate notice or consent will be obtained.

Participants who do not wish to be photographed or recorded should follow the opt-out procedure communicated for the relevant event.

Specific events may have stricter rules concerning recording.

19. Participant-Generated Content

Participants may create photographs, videos, recordings, or other content during events.

Participants must respect:

  • the privacy of other participants;
  • intellectual property rights;
  • confidentiality;
  • safeguarding requirements; and
  • any event-specific restrictions.

Participants must not publish or distribute content that unlawfully identifies, humiliates, harasses, or otherwise harms another participant.

Particular care must be taken when photographing or recording minors.

20. Educational and Prevention Programmes

Logout Neuchâtel programmes are designed primarily for:

  • education;
  • prevention;
  • awareness;
  • skills development;
  • behavioural reflection;
  • digital literacy; and
  • community engagement.

Participation in an educational or prevention programme does not constitute medical treatment or psychiatric care unless a separate Service expressly provides otherwise and is legally authorized to do so.

21. Psychological and Sensitive Topics

Certain events may address topics involving:

  • mental health;
  • psychological well-being;
  • online harassment;
  • cyberbullying;
  • problematic technology use;
  • AI and psychological effects;
  • digital addiction-related behaviours;
  • online radicalization;
  • self-harm or suicide prevention; or
  • other potentially sensitive subjects.

Educational content concerning such topics does not constitute individualized diagnosis or treatment.

Participants should seek appropriate professional or emergency support where their personal circumstances require care beyond the scope of the programme.

22. Emergency Situations

Logout Neuchâtel events and programmes are not emergency medical or psychiatric services.

Facilitators and staff may take reasonable measures where an immediate safety concern arises, consistent with applicable law and the circumstances known at the time.

Participants should not rely on an event, workshop, or programme as a substitute for emergency healthcare.

23. School and Educational Institution Programmes

Where Logout Neuchâtel provides a programme to a school, university, or other educational institution:

  • the institution may be responsible for participant administration;
  • teachers or designated staff may remain responsible for supervision where applicable;
  • additional safeguarding requirements may apply;
  • programme-specific confidentiality arrangements may be established; and
  • the institution may be required to obtain relevant parental or guardian permissions.

The exact responsibilities of the institution and Logout Neuchâtel will depend on the specific programme agreement.

24. Workplace and Organizational Programmes

For programmes provided to employers, public institutions, associations, or other organizations, the organization may be responsible for:

  • participant registration;
  • scheduling;
  • venue arrangements;
  • internal communications;
  • payment; and
  • organizational coordination.

Participation in an organizational programme does not automatically authorize Logout Neuchâtel to disclose confidential information about individual participants to the organization.

Where appropriate, reporting may be provided in aggregated or anonymized form.

25. Confidentiality

Participants may become aware of personal or sensitive information concerning other participants during an event or programme.

Participants are expected to respect the confidentiality of information that is expressly identified as confidential or that reasonably should be understood to be private.

Logout Neuchâtel cannot guarantee confidentiality where participants themselves disclose, record, or redistribute information contrary to the applicable rules.

26. Personal Data

Personal Data relating to registration and participation is processed in accordance with the Logout Neuchâtel Privacy Policy.

Depending on the programme, information may include:

  • registration information;
  • attendance;
  • age;
  • contact information;
  • emergency contact information;
  • participant preferences;
  • feedback;
  • programme participation data; and
  • other information reasonably necessary to administer the activity.

Additional privacy notices may apply to specific programmes.

27. Research and Evaluation

Some programmes may include voluntary research, evaluation, or impact assessment.

Where participation in research requires consent, participants will be informed separately.

Participation in a research activity will not be required merely because a person participates in an ordinary educational or prevention programme unless clearly stated and legally permissible.

Where possible, programme evaluation will use aggregated or anonymized information.

28. Artificial Intelligence and Digital Tools

Certain programmes may use:

  • AI systems;
  • simulations;
  • chatbots;
  • interactive digital environments;
  • algorithmic demonstrations;
  • digital assessments; or
  • other technology-based educational tools.

Where such technologies are used, participants will receive appropriate information concerning their use.

AI-generated information may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not automatically be treated as professional, medical, legal, or psychological advice.

Participants must not enter confidential information into external AI systems unless the programme expressly permits such use.

29. Logout Prism

Logout Prism may be used as part of certain educational programmes.

Logout Prism is designed to help participants explore:

  • algorithmic influence;
  • digital persuasion;
  • synthetic media;
  • misinformation;
  • online risks;
  • AI-related influence; and
  • behavioural decision-making.

The simulations are educational and preventive.

Participation does not constitute a psychological diagnosis, clinical assessment, or prediction of an individual's future behaviour.

Any results generated by Logout Prism should be interpreted within the educational context in which they are provided.

30. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, educational materials, presentations, exercises, graphics, videos, software, simulations, and other programme content provided by Logout Neuchâtel remain the property of the Association or the relevant rights holder.

Participants may use materials for their personal or authorized educational purposes.

They may not reproduce, commercially exploit, redistribute, or publicly publish materials without appropriate authorization.

31. Accessibility

Logout Neuchâtel seeks to make its events and programmes reasonably accessible.

Participants who require reasonable accommodations should communicate their needs as early as possible.

The Association will consider accommodation requests having regard to:

  • the nature of the activity;
  • available resources;
  • safety;
  • technical feasibility; and
  • applicable legal requirements.

32. Health, Safety and Venue Rules

Participants must comply with reasonable health, safety, security, and venue requirements.

Depending on the activity, these may include rules concerning:

  • access;
  • movement within the venue;
  • equipment;
  • fire safety;
  • food and beverages;
  • prohibited items;
  • supervision;
  • emergency procedures; and
  • instructions from staff or venue personnel.

Failure to comply may result in removal from the activity.

33. Personal Belongings

Participants remain responsible for their personal belongings.

Logout Neuchâtel is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

34. Liability

Logout Neuchâtel will provide events and programmes with reasonable care.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Swiss law, the Association is not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses arising from participation in an event or programme.

Participants remain responsible for their own conduct and for complying with applicable instructions.

Nothing in these Event Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

35. Force Majeure

Logout Neuchâtel will not be responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include:

  • natural disasters;
  • severe weather;
  • epidemics or pandemics;
  • public authority measures;
  • infrastructure failures;
  • significant technical failures;
  • transportation disruptions;
  • strikes;
  • security incidents;
  • venue closure; or
  • other events that could not reasonably have been prevented.

Where reasonably possible, the Association will inform participants and seek an appropriate alternative.

36. Third-Party Venues and Providers

Events may take place at third-party venues or use third-party providers.

Participants must comply with the applicable rules of those venues and providers.

Third-party providers may have their own:

  • terms;
  • privacy policies;
  • security requirements; and
  • cancellation conditions.

Where these apply independently to the participant, they remain the participant's responsibility.

37. Relationship with Consultations

Participation in an event or programme does not create a Consultation relationship.

If an event participant subsequently books an individual or family Consultation, the Consultation & Preventive Psychological Support Agreement applies separately.

Information shared voluntarily in a group educational setting should not be assumed to have the same confidentiality conditions as a private Consultation.

38. Relationship with Membership

Membership and event participation are separate matters.

A person may participate in public events without becoming a Member where the relevant event permits public registration.

Members may receive benefits such as discounts or priority registration in accordance with the Membership Terms.

39. Changes to these Event Terms

Logout Neuchâtel may update these Event Terms to reflect:

  • changes in event formats;
  • new programmes;
  • changes in technology;
  • safeguarding requirements;
  • legal developments;
  • organizational changes; or
  • operational requirements.

The version applicable to an event will be the version communicated or published at the relevant time.

40. Governing Law

These Event Terms are governed by Swiss law, subject to mandatory provisions applicable to participants.

Disputes shall be handled in accordance with the dispute-resolution and jurisdiction provisions contained in the Terms of Service, subject to mandatory applicable law.
